For yatries who are time constrained, they can choose any of the above 17 fixed departure dates as per their time schedule.

17 Days/ 16 Nights

DAY      

01: Arrive Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel. 1370 m.                                                 

02: AM- Visit Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. 1370 m.

After lunch – Detail briefing on Kailash Mansarover Yatra. Rest of the day free for preparation.     

03: Early morning drive from Kathmandu to Nyalamu via Zhangmu. 3534 m.       

Rest day at Nyalamu for acclimatization.                                           

05: Drive from Nyalamu to Dongba. 4327 m.                                                         

06: Drive to Hor Que (east shore of lake Manasarovar); for Pooja, Homa, Meditation etc 4590 m.

07: AM: Perform Pooja, Homa, Tarpan etc at Lake Manasarovar. PM: Drive to Darchen taking parikrama of Lake Manasarovar. 4575 m.               

08: Drive to Yamadwar and start Kailash "Parikrama" (circumambulation). Diraphuk. 4909m.

09: Cross Dolma La and arrive Zutulphuk. Passing Highest altitude of our yatra 5630 m. Camping at 4790 m.

10: End "parikrama" and drive to Dongba. 4327 m.

11: Drive from Dongba to Nyalamu.

12: Drive from Nyalamu to Kathmandu.

13: Drive to Pokhara. En route visit Manakaman Temple via cable car.

14: Fly to Jomsom and drive to Muktinath. Stay at hotel in Jomsom.

15: Fly back to Pokhara. Half day sightseeing in Pokhara.

16: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu.

17: Tranfer to international airport for departure flight.

01: Arrive Kathmandu. Meet, assist and transfer to hotel.

02: Visit Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. PM – detail briefing on Kailash Manasarovar tour and preparation.

03: Early morning drive from Kathmandu (4500 ft, 1371 mt) to frontier town of Nepal, Kodari. From here walk a short distance across the friendship bridge to meet the guide from our Tibet agent. Then drive for about ½ hour (12 Km) to Zhangmu (7545 ft, 2300 mt). After custom and immigration formalities, drive to Nyalamu (11660 ft, 3534 mt). Total distance 157 Kms, 98 miles (approx. 7 hrs). Stay at Guesthouse.

04: Rest day at Nyalamu for acclimatization.

05: Drive to the first high pass of Lalung La (16665 ft, 5050 mt). From here a superb view of high Himalayas can be seen from Gaurishanker, Shishapangma to Langtang himal. Drive past Khunmen Tso, Sinling, Karru Ongchen and arrive Peigutso (14540 ft, 4406 mt). Drive to driving to Saga (14080 ft, 4267 mt). Continue driving through the windswept territory passing many villages and camps of Yak herders with distance view of snow capped mountains and arrive Dongba (14180 ft, 4327 mt). Total distance 379 Kms, 237 miles (approx. 7 hrs). Stay at Guesthouse.

06: From Dongba drive to Paryang and then to Mayum river (15280 ft, 4630 mt) for 132 Km, 82 miles. Continue drive crossing Mayum La pass (17160 ft, 5200 mt) and have the first sight (Darshan) of Mt. Kailash. Further drive takes you to Horque, the eastern shore of Lake Manasarovar (15055 ft, 4590 mt). Total distance covered 330 Km, 206 miles (Approx 7 hrs). Stay at guesthouse.

07: AM: Perform religious performances (Puja, Homa, Tarpan etc.) or rest viewing the most beautiful Mt. Kailash surrounding area. PM: Taking "parikrama" (driving around) of Manasarovar arrive Darchen (15098 ft, 4575 mt), located beneath the majestic holy Mountain Kailash. Stay at Guesthouse. Total distance 90 Km, 57 miles (Approx 4 hrs). Stay at guesthouse.

08: Drive to Yamadwuar (15200 ft, 4606 mt), 8 Kms, 5 miles. From Yamadwuar trek starts. Trek through Shersang, the rebuilt Chukku Gompa, Dambing Donkhang (16137 ft, 4890mt.) and to Dirapuk (16200 ft, 4909mt). Distance 8 Km, 5 miles drive and 11 Km, 7 miles walk. Approx 6 hrs walk. Overnight in tent at Dirapuk. Yaks will carry our food, baggage and equipments. Those not doing the Parikrama, will drive to Darchen from Sersang and wait here for the parikrama group and stay at guesthouse.

09: Climb through a moraine to a meadow at 17193 ft, 5210mt and then pass rock cairns to emerge to Dolma La at 18579 ft, 5630 mt (highest altitude on this Yatra). From the pass descend via Guari Kunda Lake to the La Chukkir Villy at 16995 ft, 5150mt where you should look for the foot prints, which pilgrims believe belonged to Buddha. Descend further along, a long gentle path to Zutul-Puk Gompa (15807 ft, 4790mt.), where there is a cave in which the saint Milarepa is said to have meditated. Total distance 23 Km, 14 miles. Approx 10 hrs. Stay at tented camp.

10: Trek along the Zhong Chu river to a bridge, cross it and climb a little before descending to 15213 ft, 4610 mt from where you will have a good view of Manasarovar Lake. Meet the rest of the group members at the pick-up point and drive to Dongba. Walking distance 11 Km, 7 miles (approximate 5 hrs). Total driving distance 361 Km, 226 miles (approximate 5 to 6 hours)

11: From Dongba to Nyalamu. Total distance 379 Kms, 237 miles (approx. 7 hrs). Stay at Guesthouse.

12: Drive from Nyalamu to Kathmandu via Zhangmu. Immigration formalities will be done at Zhangmu (Chinese Immigration office) and at Kodari (Nepalese Immigration office). Stay at Hotel. 157 Km, 98 miles. Approx 7 hrs.

13: Drive to Pokhara (6 hrs drive). En route visit Manakamana temple via cable car. Stay at hotel in Pokhara.

14: After breakfast, transfer to airport. Fly to Jomsom (20 minutes flight). From Jomsom drive to Muktinath (1.5 hrs drive and 30 minutes walk). Perform puja and take holy bath in 108 natural water outlets. Drive back to Jomsom. Stay at hotel in Jomsom.

15: After breakfast fly back to Pokhara. Half day sightseeing in Pokhara city that includes Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave (cave beneath the ground having temple of lord shiva), Seti Gorge (one of deepest gorge in the world), Devi's Fall (underworld waterfalls) and Vindhyabasini temple (Goddess temple having its roots linked to Vindhyachal in India). Evening time free to tour around the Fewa lake. Stay at hotel in Pokhara.

16: After breakfast drive (6 hrs) or Fly (20 minutes) to Kathmandu. Day activities can be arranged depending on your available time (you will time for sightseeing if you fly back to Kathmandu). Evening time free for personal activities. Stay at hotel in Kathmandu.

17: Breakfast at hotel. Free until departure time. Transfer to international airport for departure flight.

  • Arrival, departure transfers and sightseeing tour in Kathmandu and Pokhara by private car/van/coach as per the program.
  • Accommodation in Kathmandu for 4 nights, Pokhara for 2 nights and Jomsom for 1 night on full board (vegetarian meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner).

  • Accommodation in the guesthouses in Tibet on dormitory style for 9 nights.
  • All transfers and sightseeing tours in Tibet by coach with English speaking guide and baggage, equipments by truck. In Nepal, Kathmandu / Kodari / Kathmandu by coach.
  • All vegetarian meals through out the tour in Tibet (breakfast and dinner is served hot in the dinning room and picnic lunch is served in the hot-cases).
  • All equipments for camping (tent, mattress, dinning tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent etc is carried to use under unavoidable circumstances)
